Overview
Arusha city is located below Mount Meru on the Eastern edge of the great rift valley and has a temperate climate. It is a major International diplomatic hub as it hosts the African Court of the African Union and is it is also the capital of the East African Community. It is a multicultural city with a majority Tanzanian population of mixed backgrounds: indigenous African, Arab-Tanzanian and Indian-Tanzanian population, plus a small European and North American minority population. Religions of the Arusha city population include Christianity, Islam, Sikhism and Hinduism. The small town is also famous for its Tanzanite mines and boasts the Arusha National Park, just outside the city
